Westfield offers the quaint, family-friendly environment of a small town. At the same time, since it is centrally located in Hamilton county, and is within minutes of Indianapolis, Westfield residents can also enjoy the amenities and lifestyle advantages of a larger city as well!
As one of the more popular areas in Central Indiana, Westfield has more than tripled in size in the past decade, while the Westfield School System has achieved excellence in academic standing statewide. All in all, Westfield is an outstanding place to call home!
Westfield was founded on May 6, 1834 and incorporated as a the City of Westfield January 1, 2008 becoming one of Indiana's newest cities.
With recent annexations in southern Washington Township and rapid population growth in areas already occupied by the pre-existing town, the City government estimates Westfield's population to be at roughly 24,000 residents.
Because of the growing size of the city, officials are planning a major revamp of the downtown.
