What does Kindergarten have to do with buying a home?

Kindergarten SchoolBuyers considering real estate in Carmel, Indiana; Fishers, Indiana; Westfield, Indiana; or Zionsville, Indiana may be wondering about the public schools in these areas.

While they are ALL OUTSTANDING and HIGH PERMORMING, they have unique qualities that differentiate themselves from one another. Are all kindergarten programs created equally?

Parents in Hamilton County and Boone County have choices when enrolling their Kindergarten age children. Are you looking for a traditional ½ day program OR a full day program? Carmel Clay Schools (CCS), offer a Full Time and Part Time choice. Students can attend all day, every day with a licensed kindergarten teacher for a fee OR they can attend all day, alternate days with a licensed kindergarten teacher for free.

Kindergarten students in Hamilton Southeastern Schools (HSE) in Fishers, attend a traditional ½ day (morning or afternoon) program. Parents can choose to pay a fee to keep their kindergarten student at school all day. The “K-Plus” program is run through YMCA as opposed to a licensed Kindergarten teacher of HSE. Westfield Washington Schools (WWS) in Westfield, and Zionsville Community Schools in Zionsville, offer the traditional ½ program.

For parents that want an all day option, these two schools offer a program called, “Beyond the Kindergarten Bell”. This fee based program is different from HSE schools because the staff is trained and employed by the school system. The lead and assistant teacher for “Beyond the Kindergarten Bell” are not both required (although most do) to have a college degree and teaching license.

The teachers running “Beyond the Kindergarten Bell” are different from the student’s kindergarten teacher similar to schools in Fishers.
